EdenTree Lab Manager is the leading software platform for managing, scheduling, and tracking connectivity of test equipment and network devices in labs.
It is a client/server application designed for the dynamic
network test lab environments of today's network equipment manufacturers, service providers, and enterprises.
- Locally or remotely reconfigure test topologies with the click of a mouse or scripted commands.
- Take the guesswork and conflict out of lab scheduling with self-service
reservations and job queuing.
- Track the utilization of lab devices.
Manage Switching Infrastructure
EdenTree Lab Manager controls 3rd party physical layer switches
and power switches to which network lab resources are connected, creating a software-controlled switching infrastructure
that replaces manual patch panels. Through our partnerships with leading switch vendors, the switching infrastructure may
be custom configured to accommodate any number or combination of interface types, including any rate
Ethernet, Optical, Fibre Channel, RF/Coax, POTS/analog,
T1/E1, DSL, and others. Devices in multiple labs may be interconnected to each
other across a building, campus, or even across the world,
utilizing long-haul links provided by some switches.
Test devices and devices under test are connected to a switch(es) once, and then topologies are reconfigured either with a
drag-and-drop GUI or automated scripts. Multiple switches from multiple manufacturers may be transparently managed simultaneously
from one single server application, while an engineer using the client application deals only with
the end devices being used.
Easy-to-Use GUI
Lab Manager automates the physical layer
reconfigurations, while providing an easy-to-use graphical
user interface for remotely or locally...
- discovering available devices
- designing and sharing topologies and configurations
- scheduling tests for immediate or future use
- controlling physical configurations and power to devices
- tracking asset availability and usage
Lab Manager's market-leading features not only make it
easy to transition from manual control to software
control of resources, but optimize the resources ways never
before possible from an off-the-shelf solution:
- Discover available devices that have specific attributes
- Define generic configurations with substitution criteria, allowing the system to choose available devices at the time of reservation
- Easily tap connections (patent pending method) to send traffic to analyzers or to insert test boxes
- Assign domain rights to users to limit access privileges to certain devices
- Create topology building blocks that can be merged to create larger test topologies
- Drill down to connection diagnostics that allow you to easily access route specifics and diagnostics from
the switching infrastructure
Lab Manager's benefits can be extended with add-on features and products, helping you automate a variety of lab processes. Add:
- Lab Manager API to integrate with test scripts for complete end-to-end test automation
- Power Control to integrate power management of devices in the lab
- Configuration Management to integrate automated reconfiguration of computers in the lab
- Asset Management Reports to help you track and report on lab assets, utilization, and usage patterns (included with the Lab Manager platform today)
